The Gohar Mahal in Bhopal was built in 1820 by Qudisiya Begum, Bhopal's first female monarch, also known as Gohar Begum. As a result, this masterpiece has a long history in Bhopal, dating back to the time of the Nawabs and Begums. Gohar Begum became the first woman to gain the throne of Bhopal in 1819, changing the patriarchal ruling history of the city. Madhya Pradesh Tourism maintains this property, which is now recognized as an important heritage site.

However, it is an excellent resource for learning more about Indian history, particularly the Nawab dynasty in Bhopal. A magnificent combination of Hindu and Mughal architecture will once again enchant you. Some of Bhopal's old and aged structures are also housed here, and they have a certain old charm of their own. The site is another example of a woman ruler's endeavor to describe her significant contribution to the realms of history and building.
 

The Gohar Mahal features a stunning blend of two architectural forms, as well as Jharokhas that gaze out into the courtyard. True, marvel has lost a lot of its original and older allure over the years. It is, however, being meticulously restored and protected to regain its former glory. An open hall looks out over the shimmering lake, while the ruins of ancient murals and beautiful woodwork reflect the palace's architectural marvel. Lawns and flower gardens surround the palace, which is elegantly landscaped. There are numerous doorways and corridors within the Mahal. The view of the Upper Lake from the terrace is breathtaking. The palace is in ruins to some extent. However, efforts are being undertaken to rehabilitate and restore it to its former glory. Again, several auctions and exhibitions of handloom, ethnicities, and artworks are held on the premises, which are often well-attended, particularly in September. Certainly, the building here resembles the one-of-a-kind union of Indo-Islamic architecture.

The winter season, from October to March, is the best time to visit the Gauhar Mahal since the beautiful weather makes the sightseeing tour more comfortable than the other two seasons. Queen Qudisiya changed the patriarchal governing world when she ascended to the throne of Bhopal in the early nineteenth century. She built the Jama Masjid and the Gohar Mahal as a lover of art and architecture. 

This location is notable for its unique blend of Indo-Islamic architecture and served as the Queen's final resting place before passing away and handing over her crown to her daughter.
