History


V. Shantaram, a renowned veteran actor, director, and film producer, oversaw the construction of the Goregaon Film City Mumbai in 1911. It was the brainchild of one of India's most well-known cinema personalities, Dada Sahib Phalke, who saw the city built and named after him. Approximately 900 films and television episodes have been filmed here, demonstrating the importance of this location.

Getting In Mumbai

BY AIR

Booking a private car or taking a local cab straight from the airport is the most convenient way to get from Mumbai Airport to Goregaon's Film City. The distance is about 14 kilometers, and it will take you about half an hour to get there, dropping you off right at Film City's entrance.

You can take one of the city's local buses, however, this will need you to change buses many times during your journey.
