About Govind Dev Ji Temple Jaipur

The historic Govind Dev Ji Temple Jaipur is devoted to Lord Krishna and Radha Ji. The great founder of the Jaipur Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II brought the deities of the temple from the holy city of Vrindavan. This Vaishnav temple is among the most sacred and important temples for devotees, especially for locals. Govind Dev Ji is considered the principal deity of rulers of the  Kachwaha dynasty. It is a very common belief among the devotees that the idol of Govind Dev Ji looks exactly like Lord Krishna.

The Maharaja of the Jaipur was the pure devotee of Lord Krishna, so when he shifted his capital from Amer to Jaipur, he ordered the architects to design his palace in such a way that he can have a direct glimpse of Lord Krishna. Devotees can have darshan of Radha Govind Ji at the time of Aarti ( prayer).
